“When an angler becomes a member of FishingSponsors.com, we help them create a professional portfolio that increases their odds of getting positive feedback from potential sponsors,” said FishingSponsors.com owner Justin Eidem. “Now they’ll also have the satisfaction of knowing that a portion of their membership fee will be earmarked to support the Foundation’s youth fishing initiatives such as Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs and Physh Ed. We feel that our network of avid anglers, fishing guides and business organizations will all be interested in learning more about, and supporting, the Future Fisherman Foundation. And we hope our support of F3’s efforts will encourage more young people to become lifelong anglers.”
“Mr. Eidem called me and said it was important to him that his company be directly involved in supporting fishing education for children,” said F3 executive director Keith Sutton. “The partnership we’ve developed will enable every member of FishingSponsors.com to be a part of that. We’re grateful for their contributions and hope other companies will follow the example set by Mr. Eidem and support our efforts to ensure the future of fishing.”

Backyard Bass Launches New Starter Set, Angler Education Website In Partnership with Future Fisherman Foundation
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (April 22, 2010) — For more than 15 years, schools, fishing clubs and families have been using the Backyard Bass from Ironwood Pacific Outdoors to help youngsters learn to cast. Each Backyard Bass set comes with colorful plastic fish and casting plugs. Simply place the fish on the ground, step back and let the kids cast. The goal is to snag one of the fish and reel it in — just like real fishing! Ideal for children age six and up, the Backyard Bass can be used indoors or outdoors to develop casting and fishing skills.
Working in partnership with the Future Fisherman Foundation, Ironwood Pacific has just released a new Backyard Bass Starter Set. Although available to anyone, this set was designed specifically to meet the needs of angler educators working with smaller programs and events. With 16 fish in various colors and 20 casting plugs, it is perfect for up to eight participants at a time. At $49.00 (more than $10 off the suggested retail price), the kit is well within the reach of most budgets. And a portion of the proceeds from each sale of this product will help support important Future Fisherman Foundation (F3) programs such as Hooked On Fishing—Not On Drugs and Physh Ed.
“The Backyard Bass sets have long been popular with many of our educators around the country,” said F3 Director of Education Teresa Rodriguez. “They provide a fun, simple way for children to learn the basics of casting that will help them become proficient anglers. We’re very grateful our friends at Ironwood Pacific Outdoors have developed the Starter Set especially to meet the needs of the many educators who deliver our programs to school-age children throughout the U.S.”
Providing the low-price Starter Sets is just one step the Backyard Bass folks have taken to assist angler educators. They also have launched a new website where teachers, parents, club leaders and others can share experiences and find information on how to teach casting methods and casting safety.
“Over the years, we’ve principally relied on word of mouth in the angler education community to spread the word,” said Jim Stewart, President of Ironwood Pacific Outdoors. “We feel it’s time to give a little something back, so we’ve put together the BackyardBass.com website focused on creating a meeting spot for angler educators to share ideas and resources. We invite everyone to join the community, share information on the forum and give us your feedback on the site and how we can make it more useful.”

Sales of Poor Boy’s Baits’ New Lure Dye Benefit
Future Fisherman Foundation
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (March 24, 2010)—With spring fishing season getting underway, many anglers are stocking their tackle boxes and getting out on the water. The Future Fisherman Foundation (F3) encourages fishing enthusiasts making purchases to patronize companies that support F3’s important youth angling programs such as Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs and Physh Ed.
One such company is Poor Boy’s Baits, a family-owned business in LaGrange, Indiana, that sells a wide variety of quality fishing products. To show their support for the Foundation’s youth education programs, owners Shawn and Kim Straley have formed a partnership that will help fund F3’s work. Each time anglers purchase a bottle of Poor Boy’s Baits’ popular new lure dye, the Straleys will donate 20 cents to F3.
Poor Boy’s Lure Dye is non-scented and odor disappears when dry. Use it to dye worm tails, craw claws, hoola skirts or even whole baits to get just the right color. The dye comes in six hot fish-catching colors: watermelon, green pumpkin, black, red, orange and chartreuse. Buyers have the satisfaction of knowing that part of the purchase price from the sale of every bottle will help ensure the future of fishing.
“Through programs like Hooked On Fishing Not On Drugs, the Future Fisherman Foundation exposes America’s young people to the positive values of fishing,” said Shawn Straley. “We wholeheartedly support those efforts and wanted to show that through this partnership.
“Since its inception in 1986, the Future Fisherman Foundation has provided fishing education programs for more than 1 million children nationwide,” said F3 executive director Keith Sutton. “This wouldn’t be possible, however, without the generous support of companies like Poor Boy’s Baits and the customers who buy their products. We’re proud to include them among our partners.”
