Plano Tackle Box Sales Benefit Future Fisherman Foundation
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (August 4, 2009)
In support of its mission to teach young people to fish, the Future Fisherman Foundation received a donation of $6,612 from Plano Molding Company at ICAST, the world’s largest sportfishing trade show, held July 15-17, 2009, in Orlando, Florida.
“For several years now, a portion of the sales from our 5000 Series ‘Take Me Fishing’ Tackle Box has been used to support the Future Fisherman Foundation’s outstanding efforts to bring fishing to young people nationwide,” said Jesse Simpkins, Plano’s Vice President of Marketing as he presented a check to the foundation’s Education Director Teresa Rodriguez. “This year’s gift is Plano’s largest donation to date. Our cause-related marketing agreement adds to the success of our company, while simultaneously helping the industry through increasing participation.”
Plano’s “Take Me Fishing” Tackle Box gives youngsters a perfect way to start fishing. Features include rugged all-weather construction, a full-size lift-out tray and an excellent assortment of tackle to help any beginner find his or her way. Simpkins attributes much of the retail success of the starter tackle box to the packaging, which informs the buyer their purchase will benefit youth fishing education through a donation to the Future Fisherman Foundation. “Take Me Fishing” is supported by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation.
