Physh Ed
“The
enthusiasm demonstrated by the students, teachers,
administration and parents is overwhelming. What
a great way to connect with kids. Fishing is a
true lifetime activity where everyone can find
enjoyment.”

The Physh Ed National Fishing
and Boating Education Grants initiative enables public,
private or charter schools to design and deliver high
quality, standards-based fishing related programming
as a part of their regular, daily curriculum. Fishing
provides a great activity that can engage and inspire
students through effective hands-on learning and skill
development. The Foundation enthusiastically supports
the quality work of hundreds of educators across the
country, who are actively utilizing fishing as a part
of their daily physical education, science or personal
development classes.
Physh Ed provides access and opportunities for children in many areas
that would not exist otherwise. The programs’ strength lies in the ability
of educator to receive funds; obtain training and develop a quality program
that is a part of every student’s regular school day. Additionally, Physh Ed
enables educators to deliver important life lessons; necessary hands-on conservation
skills and to provide a meaningful introduction to the lifelong pursuit of
the great American pastime of fishing.
How Can You Get Involved?
-
Connect
with your local school
If
they have a fishing program help them out through a donation
of money, your time, or other resources. If they do not
have a program, offer to help to begin one (we’ll be happy
to guide you through the steps!).
- Form
an after school youth fishing club
Reach
out to other like- minded organizations in your community
that want to increase the opportunities for youth to get
outside and learn a sport they can participate in for a
lifetime. Reach out to parents, PTA’s, angling clubs
and organizations, Parks and Recreation staff, and other
outdoor groups.
- Support
the efforts of the Future Fisherman Foundation
Help
support our efforts by donating your time or resources
or by making a contribution to help enable youth angling
programs in their school and community.

"I
loved to fish and thought it was a great idea to get
my students excited about science. Our attendance improves,
our behaviors are better and our students have become
very aware of aquatic conservation issues. It is a win-win
for everyone!”
