The Future Fisherman Foundation Announces Florida “Train the Trainers” Seminar October 22nd and 23rd

Sept. 12, 2011 – The Future Fisherman Foundation and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have announced a regional training seminar for all parties interested in aquatic education training. Camp Ocala, located at 18533 NFS 535 Altoona, Fl. 32702 will be the site of this year’s event.

This seminar is open to not only teachers from around the state, but also 4H leaders, Boy/Girls Scout leaders, FFA personnel and a host of others who are interested in getting students involved with aquatic education. Learning the principles of successful programs, such as Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs, will be the focus of this two day seminar. Continue reading

Coordinated through Michigan State University’s Department of Community, Agriculture, Recreation and Resource Studies, this workshop is a partnership with MSU Extension-Kalamazoo County, MSU 4-H Youth Development, Department of Natural Resources, The Bass Federation and the Future Fisherman Foundation, and many others to educate young people about our natural resources through FISHING. Future Fisherman Foundation Teams with Arkansas Game and Fish in Training Seminar

The Future Fisherman Foundation and The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission recently partnered with several other agencies to conduct a “Train the Trainers” seminar at the Hot Springs Convention Center in conjunction with the FLW Forrest Wood Cup Bass Fishing Tournament.

Sponsored in part through a grant from the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation, attendees from 16 different states attended the seminar, designed specifically for training community and group leaders on how to get involved with aquatic education programs like Hooked on Fishing Not on Drugs. The main focus of the seminar was to enable attendees to go back to their communities and train other trainers on the techniques and methods required to be successful with these programs. The Forrest Wood Cup to Host F3 Training Seminar

The Future Fishing Foundation (F3) and FLW Outdoors have teamed up to provide a training opportunity for those involved with youth Aquatic Education programs. The seminar will be held Thursday, Aug. 11, during the Forrest Wood Cup in Hot Springs, Ark., and Friday, Aug. 12th at DeGray Lake during the National Guard Junior World Championship.

This seminar will be designed to “train trainers” who will then be involved directly with students in organizations like the Boy Scouts of America, FFA, 4-H, as well as schools from across the country. These seminars are being made available to all interested applicants through a grant provided by the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation and the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

Attendees will be given a training manual that covers topics such as biology, habitat, rod and reel operation along with instruction in hands on activities for the students. Participants will also be given a complete list of available resources that are available to assist them in teaching a variety of age groups. Continue reading
